Frontiers Magazine Provides Boeing Employees with Aviation News

A corporate communications professional, Katherine Sopranos provided media and public relations support to companies, including The Northern Trust Company and The Boeing Company. At the latter, Katherine Sopranos held the role of communications specialist for executive and internal corporate communications. Her main responsibilities involved supporting Boeing International, leading development workshops, and managing Frontiers Magazine.

Written for Boeing employees, Frontiers Magazine was derived from the company’s former newspaper, which ceased publication in 2002. The periodical utilizes journalistic standards to share timely information about topics ranging from product launches and updates and market challenges to industry professionals and company activities. The company offers both print and online formats for the 11 issues it produces each year. December and January are combined into one issue. The magazine serves as a complement to Boeing’s internal online publication Boeing News Now.

In the February 2015 issue of Frontiers Magazine, the company discussed the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey, an aircraft with the ability to take flight in the same fashion as a helicopter. Flying quickly like a fixed-wing aircraft, the Osprey is useful for humanitarian and military missions. Other topics covered in the February issue include the global reach of the C-17 Globemaster III and Boeing’s partnership with China, a leader in the aviation industry.
